Q: What factors should I consider when I'm thinking of purchasing a sign or banner?
1) Message to be communicated.
A basic rule of thumb is "Less is Better". Normally you have around three seconds to convey
your main message to your audience. You don't want to put 10 lbs. of message in a 5 lbs. sign!
2) Colors and logos.
Whether we realize it or not, colors have a positive or negative reaction within the subconscious mind. The silent language of color can impress, motivate, divert, or persuade your target audience.
Logos can mean brand identification and can be very positive in marketing strategies.
3) Distance.
The chart below can help you determine letter size for the project you are working on based on the distance your sign or banner will be from your target audience. Distance may vary 10% with various color combinations. Chart based on black letters with a white background.
